Tubes (YouTube, TeacherTube, BlipTV)

Cheryl introduced me to Teacher Tube yesterday. I checked it out briefly and was so excited I sent out an email to staff members at my school. Later that day I got a chance to really explore. There were a couple of teacher targeted video tutorials that were really helpful. One was on literature groups and one on how to make a poster sized document using MS Excel. This would be really handy at times.

As I explored further, I found that I could set up groups of videos that any users could check out or add to. I started a group called PDA Teahcers for teachers using PDAs for management or for teaching and learning. This is when Teacher Tube began to bog down. There was a video tutorial explaining how to set up a group, but when these instructions failed, there was no recourse. So now I have a group of one video about using PDAs. I looked around at the other groups and found that many of them had only one video or none at all. It was also pretty tricky to navigate as the menus changed without warning. So, although I think this could be a useful site for teachers, it seems that Teacher Tube has some bugs to work out.
